The Tatooine Star Fortress stood sentinel above Tatooine, one of countless Star Fortresses established by Emperor Arcann of the Eternal Empire. These fortresses served to monitor conquered worlds, quelling any potential rebellions following the Eternal Empire's conquest. Under the command of Exarch Tarso Gren, this particular station was defended by numerous Skytroopers and Knights of Zakuul. Its presence exacerbated tensions on the planet, as it meddled in the ongoing conflicts between local gangs, resulting in increased oppression felt by the inhabitants. In approximately 3631 BBY, a Selonian known as "Deadeye" Leyta joined forces with the Commander of the Anti-Zakuul Alliance with the goal of dismantling the Star Fortress. They formed a specialized team that successfully attacked and neutralized the Tatooine shield bunker that provided protection to the Star Fortress. The team then reconvened at the Alliance base located on Odessen. From that location, Theron Shan and Miot Dengd provided support to the Commander as they infiltrated the Star Fortress. After battling through multiple levels of the station, the Commander finally reached the Sun Generator chamber, where they confronted the Exarch directly. During the intense confrontation, the Sun Generator's safety mechanisms were deactivated, and Exarch Tarso Gren met his demise. The Commander narrowly escaped aboard a shuttle just before the Sun Generator went into overload, resulting in the complete annihilation of the Star Fortress and all the personnel remaining onboard.
