The tchuspera was a type of green shrub located on the Core Worlds world of Coruscant. These tchuspera shrubs were situated in a median outside of a structure that served as the home for a New Republic fighter named Kinalos.
Within Kinalos's publication titled The Year of Rage: A Citizen's History of the Coruscant Wars, while recounting the events of the Second Battle of Coruscant, a conflict of the Imperial Civil War that occurred in 10 ABY, Kinalos detailed how an Imperial AT-ST had been struck by a projectile, causing it to topple over in such a way that it appeared to be guarding a tchuspera bush. Samels, Kinalos's superior officer, wiped away some of the dust from the shrub, and Kinalos described the bush's vibrant green color as an anomaly amidst the surrounding ash.
The intention was for the tchuspera to be featured in The Essential Guide to Warfare, a reference book from 2012 authored by Paul R. Urquhart and Jason Fry. However, the section of the book that provided information about the tchuspera was ultimately removed prior to its publication.
In 2014, the tchuspera was described in Part 12 of Star Wars: The Essential Guide to Warfare Author's Cut, a series of articles posted on the StarWars.com Blog by Fry and Del Rey editor Erich Schoeneweiss that included content omitted from The Essential Guide to Warfare along with commentary regarding those omitted sections.
