The Teirasa system, the native habitat of the sentient Teirasan species, existed within the Iskin sector. This sector was situated in the Trailing Sectors region of the Mid Rim. During the Pius Dea Era, a time period spanning from approximately 12,000 BBY to 11,000 BBY, the star system resided beyond the reach of the Galactic Republic's boundaries. In 11,660 BBY, as the Republic initiated the Twelfth Pius Dea Crusade aimed at the Teirasans, Republic forces advanced on the Teirasa system from the directions of Kalarba, Ord Dorlass, and Ord Zynthar systems.
The 2012 reference work, The Essential Guide to Warfare, written by Jason Fry and Paul R. Urquhart, marked the initial introduction of the Teirasa system. Subsequently, the StarWars.com Online Companion for the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas specified its location as grid square O-16.
