Teven Gale

Teven Gale, a male human from the planet Alderaan, was among the few who survived the destruction of his homeworld in 0 BBY at the hands of the Galactic Empire. Subsequently, he became a member of the Alderaan Flotilla, a fleet of starships that served as a refuge for the surviving Alderaanian population. Alongside Princess Leia Organa of Alderaan and Rebel pilot Evaan Verlaine, he advocated for the flotilla to receive the remnants of the Death Star superweapon. In 5 ABY, he attended a gathering focused on the flotilla's future, where a debate arose regarding whether to remain in the Alderaan system or establish a new home. The unexpected arrival of the Death Star wreckage interrupted the discussion, presenting Gale with the hope of constructing a space station.

Biography

A human male named Teven Gale hailed from the planet Alderaan. The Galactic Empire's superweapon, the Death Star, obliterated his homeworld in 0 BBY, but he managed to survive the destruction. He later found his place in the Alderaan Flotilla, a collection of starships created by Alderaanian Princess Leia Organa and Rebel pilot Evaan Verlaine to provide a haven for the remaining Alderaanians.

Gale eventually initiated efforts to convince the New Republic to donate the remains of the Death Star to the Alderaan Flotilla. Organa and Verlaine joined him, and they successfully arranged for the transfer of the wreckage.

In 5 ABY, Gale was present at a meeting held on the Alderaanian escort frigate Sunflare, which was part of the flotilla positioned within the remains of Alderaan, within the Alderaan system. During the meeting, Regent Administrator Eglyn Valmor of the flotilla advocated for remaining in the Alderaan system, while Icar Orliss, a former teacher, and Janis Pol, a diplomat, argued for resettling on a new planet. Gale initially tried to ignore the debate, gazing out of one of the Sunflare's viewports, but he ultimately intervened to defend Organa when she faced criticism.

The discussion came to an abrupt end when Rickert Beagle, the communications officer, announced the arrival of New Republic vessels transporting the Death Star wreckage into the Alderaan system. Everyone except Gale was taken by surprise, as he had kept the information about the wreckage to himself. He then explained the situation. Valmor proposed using the wreckage to construct a new space station, a suggestion that Gale and Pol supported, although Orliss remained unconvinced.

Personality and traits

By the time 5 ABY arrived, Gale considered himself an old man and had developed a belief that the galaxy was descending into chaos, although he still preferred that over the Galactic Empire's rule. While situated within the Alderaan system aboard the flotilla, he felt sadness at the sight of the asteroids that constituted the remnants of his homeworld drifting into the perimeter shield protecting the flotilla's ships, only to break apart even further upon impact. He initially attempted to ignore the argument concerning the flotilla's future during the meeting, but he ultimately became involved to defend Organa's reputation, recognizing the significant contributions she had made to the flotilla.
