Storyline

Chance Encounters

Wicket, having successfully gathered a substantial amount of goods for trade, links up with his companions: Kneesaa, Latara, Paploo, Teebo, Widdle, and Weechee. Together, they set out to visit a merchant for trading purposes. During their journey, they cross paths with a pair of Jindas who extend an invitation to a waterfall, a place where the Ewoks have previously taken rest. The Ewoks decline the offer, explaining that they must first complete their errand with the merchant. At the waterfall, Trebla, the group's resident magician, implores Bondo, the leader, to depart, but Bondo refuses. Without warning, numerous rocks begin to float and hurl themselves at the Jindas, who quickly retreat to their Awor.

At the merchant's establishment, Mooth, the trader, dispatches two of his swiftest workers to unload Wicket's cart. Wicket had also brought Monmon seeds for trade but was undecided on what he wanted in return. Mooth eventually persuades him to acquire a lucky rock, which Wicket then gifts to Kneesaa.

Flight from the Skandits

On their return trip, the Ewoks are ambushed by a band of Skandits and taken captive. They are transported to the Skandits' home and confined within a root cellar. Sometime later, the Travelling Jindas arrive to put on a performance. In an effort to solicit assistance, Latara, an old friend of Bondo's, begins playing her flute, capturing Bondo's attention and prompting him to approach the cage. This angers the Skandits, leading Bondo to prevent Latara from speaking and walk away, which leaves Latara feeling dejected. Later, during the show, some dancers, accompanied by Trebla, approach the root cellar. The dancers cause the guards to lose consciousness, and Trebla unlocks the cage. A group of individuals concealed beneath a snake-like team costume then appears. The Ewoks slip under the costume and make their way to the show.

They start to growl, startling the Skandit guards positioned at the side of the stage, and then proceed onto the stage, frightening the Skandits in the audience. They pace in circles on the stage, growling like wild animals, but Widdle accidentally steps on Weechee's foot, causing everyone to lose their balance. Everyone except Wicket falls, causing the costume to fall apart. They all flee, and the other Jindas have already gotten the Awor racing away. The Skandits right behind them, the Ewoks swing to the top of one of the Awor.

The Jindas' affliction

Upon their return to their village, the Ewoks are greeted with a celebratory welcome from their relatives. However, the festivities are abruptly interrupted when rocks once again begin to attack the Jindas. Chief Chirpa directs all of the Jindas to the elevated walkways of Bright Tree Village and raises the stairway to prevent the low-hovering rocks from reaching them. They then begin to discuss the curse that the Jindas have been referencing with Logray. Bondo signals for some of the other Jindas to start playing and singing a song.

The song narrates how the Jindas were once settled farmers, rather than travelers. They were under the protection of a mysterious Rock Wizard who asked only for food as payment. However, when they served him a poorly prepared meal, the Rock Wizard believed they were attempting to poison him. As punishment, he banished them from his land, placing a curse upon them involving the rock beings, which would activate if they ever returned to his land or lingered for too long. This explains why they were always getting lost.

Achieving harmony

Chief Chirpa resolves to assist them in returning home. Consequently, Logray, accompanied by his apprentice Teebo, descends to confront the rocks and begins to chant. Suddenly, creatures from the surrounding forest emerge and use vines to restrain the rocks, securing them to trees. They lower the stairs, and when Bondo steps onto the ground, the rocks begin to bounce but soon cease their activity. This action draws the Rock Wizard out to the village, where he initiates some chaos, angered that Logray broke the curse.

Kneesaa attempts to intervene, and when the Rock Wizard sees her, he realizes that she possesses his missing tooth, which she carries as her lucky rock. He retrieves it, reinserts it, and immediately feels better, aside from the embarrassing realization that he cursed a whole people over a dental problem. When Wicket explains that the tooth is believed to be a good luck charm, the amused Rock Wizard notes that idea is apparently true considering it was a stroke of luck that it happened to be his missing tooth. Now in a far better mood, the Rock Wizard lifts the curse and allows the Jindas to return to their home.

Chronological Placement

This episode marks the initial instance in the series where Logray and his promising student, Teebo, are depicted interacting with the wild creatures of the Endor forest, predating Teebo's formal apprenticeship to Logray in the episode "Sunstar vs. Shadowstone."
