Plot summary

The story goes that a group of three pirates were on the run. They had betrayed their pirate comrades for stolen Imperial riches. This trio consisted of a Weequay, Marath, a Quarren, Kalab, and a Human, Houliet. While attempting to escape both their former allies and the Imperial governor from whom they stole, they ended up in the Hoth system. It was there that they made the decision to conceal their ill-gotten gains on Jhas Krill, an empty moon orbiting the gas giant Jhas.

Upon landing on Jhas Krill, the pirates secured their vessel and ventured into the jungle to find a suitable place to stash the treasure. As darkness descended, they grew concerned about navigating back to their ship. They then shifted their focus to locating shelter. Eventually, they noticed a faint glow that guided them to a modest house situated in a clearing. A tall, slender woman in red and black robes, named Shelish, welcomed them inside. The interior revealed a collection of shimmering treasures scattered throughout the single-room dwelling.

When asked the reason for their arrival, the pirates fabricated a story, claiming they were fleeing from other pirates and sought refuge on the moon. After receiving promises of food and lodging, the pirates began to secretly plot against Shelish using a coded language. However, Shelish was aware of the pirates' true intentions and carefully prepared their broth. When Marath advanced toward Shelish with a knife, the shadows within the hut began to twist and morph, ultimately taking the form of a hairy Wookiee. This Wookiee, known to Shelish as Owacchi, swiftly subdued the threat. However, Shelish prevented Owacchi from killing them, instead allowing the pirates to leave with a warning never to return.

Upon reaching their ship, the pirates were relieved to find their treasure untouched. However, when Houliet touched one of the golden goblets, it gradually disintegrated into dust. Similarly, every coin, jewel, or relic the pirates touched turned to dust. The witch had placed a curse on them, giving them exactly what they deserved.
