Tojjelnoot, a male Wookiee belonging to the Tojj clan, held the position of venerable council leader on Kashyyyk, the homeworld of his species, in 40 ABY.
During 40 ABY, as the Second Galactic Civil War reached a precarious equilibrium, the Wookiee fleet, assembled above the planet, became a coveted asset for both warring factions. Tojjelnoot championed the idea of offering their substantial military strength to support the Galactic Alliance, and the vote ultimately favored his proposal.
However, Han and Leia Organa Solo journeyed to Kashyyyk and, with the aim of preventing further escalation of the conflict in the interest of the Confederation, challenged Tojjelnoot while he was addressing the council. Organa Solo engaged Tojjelnoot in a duel to acquire the tyrossum jaw, also known as the Talking Bone, which facilitated communication with the Wookiees present. Much to his surprise and dismay, Tojjelnoot was defeated, although Solo employed the Force. He permitted Organa Solo to address the council and instructed his peers to treat her with respect. However, the Ewok Tarfang disrupted Solo's address, leading to chaos. Order was restored with the arrival of Luke Skywalker, and Tojjelnoot witnessed the Jedi Master informing the Wookiees about the assassination of former Chief of State [Cal Omas] (/article/cal_omas), orchestrated by Jacen Solo, the co-leader of the GA. Consequently, the Wookiees resolved to provide refuge for the New Jedi Order, who had abandoned the Galactic Alliance at Kuat, along with Han and Leia Solo, deemed traitors to their son's regime.
During the ensuing Battle of Kashyyyk, as Jacen Solo attacked Kashyyyk to punish the Wookiees and set an example, Tojjelnoot's actions remain unrecorded. He was present at the diplomatic discussions that followed the defeat of the Galactic Alliance Fifth Fleet by a coalition of Wookiee, Confederation, Hapan and Jedi forces. During these talks, he acknowledged the Confederation's role in saving his planet and expressed gratitude to the Bothan admirals present. However, he also stated that neither he nor the council endorsed the Confederation's objectives or supported their past actions. As a result, Kashyyyk formed an alliance with the Hapans and Skywalker's order to oppose Jacen Solo, then known as Darth Caedus.
