Tookas, also known as tooka-cats or Adoris Felines, represented a subspecies within the broader feline family of cats. These creatures gained popularity as domestic animals due to their carnivorous appetite for various bothersome vermin. However, many also regarded them as troublesome, wild pests. With appropriate training, they could become highly effective pest hunters. A notable tooka breed was the Loth-cat, which originated on the planet Lothal. Tookas were known to have an affinity for milk. They were frequently found in the underworld of Coruscant, where they would hunt nuna.

Tookas were a smaller variety of feline lifeform. The expression "tooka cat that ate the bulabird" described someone with a smug or self-satisfied demeanor. The question "a took got your tongue?" was posed to encourage someone unusually quiet to speak. The phrase "Look what the tooka dragged in" drew attention to someone entering a space, while "the tooka's out of the bag" indicated that a secret was revealed.
Tookas initially appeared in the Star Wars universe under the name "Adoris feline" within Otherspace, an adventure module for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game. Although this adventure is now classified under Star Wars Legends, tookas were integrated into Star Wars canon through Star Wars: The Clone Wars, initially as a stuffed animal and subsequently as a real creature. Their name was a tribute to Dave Filoni's late cat, Tuuk. The StarWars.com Encyclopedia linked the Adoris feline to Tookas in its secondary title, officially establishing the name in canon.
In Ronin: A Visions Novel, the Traveler possesses a tooka cat named Kyuu.
