Ulda Frav

Ulda Frav, a planet characterized by its tropical environment, existed within the Hangshan sector as a part of the Expansion Region. By 5000 BBY, this space had been extensively explored. Subsequently, in 3998 BBY, the Nazzar Crown Prince, known as Qrrrl Toq, and a group of Jedi who were mediating a treaty, both visited this world. While there, the Jedi informed Toq of his potential to become one of them, which he later realized. Millennia afterwards, Vlaydm Churhee served as a sharpshooter on Ulda Frav, before establishing the mercenary group called Churhee's Riflemen.

Description

Within the Hangshan sector, specifically in the Slice section of the Expansion Region, was the tropical, terrestrial planet of Ulda Frav, located in the Ulda Frav system. Ulda Frav was situated on a hyperlane linking it to the Attahox and Belasco systems between 5000 BBY and 3996 BBY; however, this hyperspace route had disappeared by the time of the Mandalorian Wars (3976 BBY3960 BBY).

History

On Ulda Frav, Qrrl Toq learned of his potential as a Jedi.

Ulda Frav was part of the "civilized galaxy" that had been extensively explored by the Galactic Republic as early as 5000 BBY. Prior to the Freedon Nadd Uprising in 3998 BBY, a group of Jedi mediated a treaty on Ulda Frav. During this time, Qrrrl Toq, the Crown Prince of the isolated Mid Rim planet Nazzri, also visited Ulda Frav as part of his self-imposed exile, known as boqeri. When the Nazzar approached the Jedi mediators and started asking them questions, they interrupted the crown prince to tell Toq that he had the potential to become a Jedi. The Nazzar surprised the Jedi by saying he had never heard of the Jedi Order. The Jedi then asked Toq to accompany them back to Ossus, the Outer Rim Territories headquarters of the Jedi Order, after which the crown prince became a Jedi.

During the Great Sith War in 3996 BBY, as part of the Krath Holy Crusade, the Krath cult's military forces passed through the Ulda Frav system before confronting the Republic's forces in the Attahox system. Later on, Vlaydm Churhee worked as a sharpshooter in the Army of the First Line on Ulda Frav. In the decade following the end of the Clone Wars in 19 BBY, Churhee used his experiences serving on Ulda Frav to create the Churhee's Riflemen mercenary unit.

Behind the scenes

The roleplaying game sourcebook Tales of the Jedi Companion, written by George R. Strayton and published by West End Games for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game in 1996, was the first time Ulda Frav was mentioned. The 2009 reference book, The Essential Atlas, placed the Ulda Frav system, and therefore the planet, in grid square P-11.
