This native species vanished sometime in the period spanning 3 ABY to 4 ABY. Yao, along with a team of people, traveled to Birukay during those years, and she then remembered the birds that had once populated the now barren world.
This bird species was referenced in Star Wars: Doctor Aphra, specifically in the comic's twenty-third issue of the 2020 series. Alyssa Wong wrote the issue, which Marvel Comics released on August 24, 2022.
