Birukay, a sparsely inhabited planet, was situated at the very edge of the galaxy, within the Outer Rim Territories. It served as a hiding place for the assassin droids BT-1 and [0-0-0], left there by Doctor Chelli Lona Aphra. They remained hidden until Sana Starros, Aphra's former lover and ally, along with her crew, discovered them.
Located on the distant fringes of the galaxy, within the Outer Rim Territories, was the planet Birukay. The planet was only lightly populated. Its features included green-ish oceans and purple beaches that bordered vibrant jungles.
Once, Birukay was the home of an avian species, but the species eventually became extinct.
After Doctor [Chelli Lona Aphra](/article/chelli_lona_aphra]'s betrayal of Darth Vader and her role in safeguarding the location of the Rebel Alliance's base from the Galactic Empire, she concealed her assassin droids, BT-1 and 0-0-0, on Birukay.
Between the years of 3 ABY and 4 ABY, the criminal organization Crimson Dawn became aware of the planet's existence and journeyed there. However, the forces they dispatched were decimated by the two assassin droids. Shortly thereafter, a team led by Sana Starros, comprising Korin Aphra, Kho Phon Farrus, Magna Tolvan, and Detta Yao, also traveled to Birukay in pursuit of Aphra. They had inferred the planet's importance to Aphra based on various clues. Upon discovering numerous dead bodies, the team was subsequently attacked by more Crimson Dawn operatives, whom they eliminated. Following this, the team deduced that Aphra had left something on the planet as a deterrent to anyone attempting to follow her path, and then encountered 0-0-0 and BT-1. After Starros persuaded the two droids to join their cause, the group departed Birukay to continue their quest to find Aphra.
