A Glymphid located Luke Skywalker, the Rebel Alliance pilot, on the planet of Nyemari to give him a hologram originating from Rezi Soresh. A substantial payment was promised to him for the delivery. The Rebels detained him while the message played and planned to interrogate him afterward. To demonstrate Soresh's power, this Glymphid was killed in front of Skywalker via a delayed-release poison.
In the year 1 ABY, the Glymphid found himself in Anem, the primary city on Nyemari. His objective was to find Luke Skywalker, the Rebel Alliance pilot, because a reward was offered for delivering a message to him. While Skywalker and his companions were engaged in a mission, this Glymphid went to the South Anem Spaceport and spoke with Li Preni, a Nyemarian mechanic. Preni revealed to the Glymphid that the Rebels were present in the city. Following their mission, the Rebels returned to the Spaceport and also encountered Preni, who informed them that they were being followed. Despite initially denying any knowledge, the Nyemarian ultimately told the Rebels about the Glymphid after being threatened by Chewbacca. Mistaking the alien for a bounty hunter dispatched by Jabba the Hutt, Solo decided to confront him and deliver his own message to Jabba. Solo managed to persuade his comrades to accompany him.
Leaving the spaceport, the Rebels returned to Anem to locate the Glymphid. The Glymphid managed to stay ahead of them until the Rebels cornered him in a neglected and dusty plaza within Anem. The Glymphid announced that he had "found" them. He began to approach the group of Rebels, but stopped when they all aimed their blasters at him. He told them to stop, explaining that he had a message for them. Solo was puzzled as to why Jabba would send a message, but the alien clarified that it was intended for Skywalker. Retrieving a datapad, he described Skywalker and handed him a holochip along with a holoplayer. While the other Rebels debated whether to play the message, Solo took it and initiated the hologram.
The message came from Imperial Commander Rezi Soresh. As Soresh introduced himself to Skywalker, the Glymphid attempted to retreat, but Solo stopped him, insisting that he stay to answer questions. Soresh continued his message, stating that he had business to conduct with Skywalker. He revealed that he had seized the colony vessel Endeavor and was holding its 100 passengers hostage in order to lure Skywalker to his outpost. Skywalker had twelve hours to appear, and Soresh claimed he was watching him and would provide a demonstration.
The Glymphid began to scream, then collapsed in front of Skywalker, and died from an activated poison. Skywalker wanted to leave to confront Soresh, but his companions refused to let him go alone. They departed to meet Soresh and were subsequently captured.
This Glymphid makes an appearance in Alex Wheeler's 2010 book, Rebel Force: Uprising.
