A male Safrifan, whose parent was a marsh-lord, existed in the High Republic Era. This son resided on Safrifa, their homeworld which is a swamp planet, as a member of a clan alongside their parent. In 231 BBY, a rival clan abducted the son, leading the parent to enlist Ty Yorrick, a mercenary, for their rescue. Yorrick successfully carried out this mission, though she disliked the blood and cries involved, and was compensated with novian ore by the marsh-lord for the son's safe return. Following the mercenary's return to her ship, she contemplated her time spent on Safrifa, including the details of the rescue.
Cavan Scott penned the novel The High Republic: The Rising Storm, which mentions the son, as part of Phase I of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project; it was released on June 29, 2021. Before the novel's publication, StarWars.com featured a preview of the novel on April 22 of that year, which contained reference to the son.
