Unidentified minelayer

A starfighter design utilized by the Trade Federation Droid Army possessed a chunky bottom section, characterized by a square-shaped front and a triangular-shaped rear. This unshielded vehicle had the ability to release floating proximity mines from a section located at its rear.

Following the Trade Federation's invasion of the world of Naboo in 32 BBY, their military units started to gather inhabitants, confining them within newly created forced labor facilities. The Droid Army positioned a pair of its starfighter minelayers with the purpose of deploying mines across multiple camps situated alongside the shores of the Andrevea River. Lieutenant Gavyn Sykes, a Naboo aviator who infiltrated the camps using a captured Federation gunboat, brought about the destruction of the two vessels and the freeing of the camps.

Behind the scenes

The minelayer was featured in the 2000 interactive game Star Wars: Episode I: Battle for Naboo, which was created by Factor 5 and distributed by LucasArts. Players encounter these vehicles in the game's eighth stage, titled "Andrevea River."
