A mining station was one of several space stations that the Paccosh operated within the asteroid field of the Rapacc system. These stations served a purpose for the Paccosh. When the Chiss Ascendancy's starships, specifically the Vigilant and Springhawk, arrived in the star system, the Nikardun Destiny, who were engaged in a blockade of the planet Rapacc, dispatched a team of Paccosh to scrutinize the station. This was done to determine if the station's sensors had detected any information about the Chiss ships. Senior Captain Mitth'raw'nuruodo and the caregiver Mitth'ali'astov encountered the Paccosh personnel while on the station.
During their time on the mining station, Uingali foar Marocsaa gave Thrawn a ring that had an image of a chimaera on it. This ring and its imagery would later become Thrawn's personal symbol.
