A security chief of the Nautolan species was employed by the Pijali monarchy's royal fleet during the Republic Era on the Inner Rim planet of Pijal. This individual collaborated with other members of the crew, such as a comm officer, under the direction of a captain who commanded a Corellian corvette.
In 40 BBY, after the coronation of Pijali Queen Fanry, the captain betrayed the monarch by siding with Rael Averross, a Jedi who formerly served as the world's regent. The security chief followed the captain's example and assisted in transporting Averross, along with his companions—Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn and Padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi—on the commanding officer's cruiser towards the queen's flagship, known as the Righteous. The Nautolan was apprehensive about their undertaking, anticipating an attack from the monarch's ship. He alerted the Jedi when the flagship activated its weapons systems and nervously repeated his warning when the weapons remained online. Shortly thereafter, Fanry surrendered on her flagship after being held at blaster-point by Cady, her former attendant.
The security chief makes an appearance in Master & Apprentice, a novel penned by Claudia Gray and released in 2019.
