A refugee who was a male Twi'lek took up residence in the Refugee Sector of the moon Nar Shaddaa. This occurred during the Dark Wars, a period marked by clashes between the Galactic Republic and what remained of Darth Revan's Sith Empire, led by a Sith Lord. At some point, he crossed paths with Atton Rand, a former Sith trooper (who used to hunt Jedi for the Sith Empire), while Rand was earning a living on Nar Shaddaa as a smuggler. In 3951 BBY, when the Jedi Exile Meetra Surik arrived on Nar Shaddaa seeking Jedi Master Zez-Kai Ell, the Twi'lek approached her. He cautioned her against trusting Rand (who was now traveling with her) by revealing that Rand was a killer. Surik would later confront Rand about this information.
A male Twi'lek refugee made his home in the Refugee Sector of Nar Shaddaa, the largest moon orbiting the planet Nal Hutta, during the Dark Wars, a series of conflicts between the Galactic Republic and the remnants of Darth Revan's Sith Empire. Before this, the Twi'lek had an encounter with a Human male named Atton Rand, who claimed to be a soldier displaced by the Jedi Civil War.
In 3951 BBY, Meetra Surik, a former Jedi Knight who had been exiled from the Jedi Order, came to the Refugee Sector while searching for Jedi Master Zez-Kai Ell. The Twi'lek approached her and warned her not to place her trust in Atton Rand, who was traveling with her. He claimed their paths had crossed previously during the Jedi Civil War years. He told her Rand had come to Nar Shaddaa claiming to be a refugee of the war, and informed Surik that Rand was a murderer, not a soldier. Surik was skeptical, but the Twi'lek stated that she could believe him or not. He had warned her about Rand and left the rest up to her. Subsequently, Surik confronted Rand with this information, and Rand admitted to having murdered Jedi for the Sith during the Jedi Civil War. Surik forgave Rand and offered to train him in the ways of the Jedi, which he accepted. He then became a Jedi Sentinel.
The Twi'lek had orange skin, blue eyes, and while he understood Galactic Basic Standard, he did not speak it. He harbored feelings of distrust towards Atton Rand and made it a priority to share his beliefs about Rand with Surik.
The Twi'lek refugee makes an appearance in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords, a role playing video game from 2004 developed by Obsidian Entertainment and published by LucasArts. The character is briefly seen in a cutscene as the player moves through Nar Shaddaa's refugee sector. Speaking to him is required if the player wants to gain enough influence with Atton Rand to train him as a Jedi.
