An Urchiv-ki male functioned as a traffic controller for Urch Planetary and Space Control, overseeing space traffic in the vicinity of the Unknown Regions planet Urch. Urch served as the capital for the Tower Dimension nation. Circa 19 BBY, the Chiss Ascendancy dispatched Ambassador Boadil'par'gasoi, also known by the core name "Ilparg," on a diplomatic mission to Urch. Ilparg traveled aboard the Nightdragon man-of-war named Vigilant.
The Vigilant requested authorization from the traffic controller to deploy Ilparg's shuttle. The Urchiv-ki, however, denied their request, informing the man-of-war that the Chiss were not welcome on Urch. Shortly thereafter, warships aligned with the Nikardun Destiny hegemony attempted to seize the Vigilant, but the Chiss vessel managed to escape. The Urchiv-ki traffic controller used the Taarja trade language while communicating with the Vigilant.
The character of the Urchiv-ki was introduced in the 2020 novel Thrawn Ascendancy: Chaos Rising, penned by Timothy Zahn as a component of his Star Wars: The Ascendancy Trilogy.[1]
