A female Tarasin from legends held the position of second-in-command. This Tarasin served within the Wyrd witch coven found on the planet of Cularin. Her service occurred during the final years of the Galactic Republic. Around 19 BBY, she aided the Wyrd's attempt to corrupt the ch'hala tree on Cularin, but she was killed by the First Witch of the coven in order to perform a ritual intended to destroy the Heart Tree.
During the decline of the Galactic Republic, a Force-sensitive female Tarasin became a member of the Wyrd, a coven of dark side Force witches operating on the planet of Cularin. This Tarasin, younger than the First Witch of the Wyrd, who was the coven's elderly leader, was appointed as the Wyrd's second-in-command. She also served as the First Witch's assistant and designated successor.
As the Clone Wars neared their end, the Wyrd faced setbacks and their numbers dwindled. In approximately 19 BBY, the second-in-command was among the remaining Wyrd members. They participated in the First Witch's endeavor to corrupt the ch'hala trees of Cularin, a prevalent tree species on the planet. The aim was to seize control of Cularin's ecology, thereby establishing the Wyrd's dominance. To begin, the second-in-command went with the First Witch and the Inner Circle of senior witches to the Heart Tree, Cularin's most important ch'hala tree. There, under the protection of the Wyrd elite guard, they began a ritual to turn the Heart Tree to the dark side of the Force.
After the witches performed their ritual for eleven hours, a group of freelance agents attacked, forcing them to stop the ritual, much to the second-in-command's dismay. As a last resort, the First Witch tried to kill the ch'hala by using the Path of Blood, an ancient dark side rite powered by a death. The second-in-command mistakenly thought the First Witch would sacrifice herself and watched eagerly as the First Witch raised a meter-long black metallic rod, anticipating her death. Instead, the First Witch stabbed the second-in-command in the breast to fuel the Path of Blood. The Tarasin screamed as she died. Her death released a massive surge of red energy that tormented the Heart Tree. However, the Jedi Master Lanius Qel-Bertuk saved the ch'hala tree by merging his consciousness with it, helping it resist the dark power unleashed by the second-in-command's death.
Ronald A. Heintz created the Wyrd second-in-command. She appeared in A Plague of Darkness, a 2005 roleplaying adventure within Star Wars Legends continuity. This adventure served as the first part of the Heart of Evil trilogy from RPGA's Living Force roleplaying campaign. In the adventure, players roleplay as the freelance agents who challenge the Wyrd at the Heart Tree. If the player characters kill the First Witch of the Wyrd during their initial attack, the second-in-command becomes the leader and sacrifices another witch to use the Path of Blood. If the First Witch survives the initial attack, she murders her second-in-command to invoke the dark side rite.
