The Uogo'cor suppression, a campaign of obliteration, was conducted by the Galactic Empire targeting the Dark Warbirds. This focused assault by the Imperial Navy on the Mid Rim world of Uogo'cor led to the annihilation of the pirate gang.
For a multitude of years, various pirate gangs engaged in conflict to dominate the Uogo'cor system, a Mid Rim star system of strategic importance situated along the Trax Tube, a crucial shipping lane traversing the Trax sector. Amassing considerable wealth through their raiding activities, the Trax Tube pirates managed to finance the construction of sophisticated and fully operational space stations orbiting the gas giants within the Uogo'cor system.
Eventually, a specific pirate gang known as the Dark Warbirds established a presence on Uogo'cor, the system's primary planet. This severe planet, defined by extended, intensely cold winters and brief, scorching summers, was inhabited by a relatively small population of diminutive humanoids, the Uogo, whose designation for their world meant "home of the suffering ones." The Dark Warbirds chose Uogo'cor as their base, reasoning that a planetary stronghold would offer superior defensibility, and they initiated the enslavement of the indigenous population.
The Dark Warbirds maintained their dominion over the system for a considerable duration, transforming Uogo'cor into a renowned shadowport that offered services to all ships without regard to their registration, background, or crew composition.
Sometime during the Imperial Period, specifically between 19 BBY and 3 ABY, the Galactic Empire made its way to Uogo'cor and completely destroyed the Dark Warbirds, along with a significant number of the Uogo.
The Uogo'cor suppression, together with the Eyttyrmin Batiiv suppression during the Battle of Khuiumin, became prime examples of campaigns designed to eliminate pirates. These operations often involved superiority forces, such as battle squadrons that included an Imperial-class Star Destroyer. They could also be executed by escort forces, such as heavy squadrons.
Following the annihilation of the Dark Warbirds, Imperial forces stayed on Uogo'cor to safeguard newly arrived settlers, while military strategists worked on a strategy to permanently stop piracy within the system.
Sometime after the operation, the Rebel Alliance dispatched several agents to Uogo'cor, with the goal of inspiring the Uogo and the local inhabitants to resist the Galactic Empire. Alliance operatives also explored the feasibility of establishing a privateer fleet in the Uogo'cor system to intercept Imperial shipping.
The Uogo'cor suppression was initially referenced in Star Wars Gamemaster Kit, a 1991 sourcebook that was co-authored by Bill Smith and Ed Stark, and published by West End Games for Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.
