Urber was a specific place. In the year 232 BBY, Mari San Tekka, a hyperspace prospector who had been abducted by the family of Marchion Ro, the Eye of the Nihil, was forced to discover unique hyperspace routes called Paths for the Nihil marauder band. She charted a course from Urber to the Expansion Region planet Pasaana while aboard Ro's flagship, the Gaze Electric. San Tekka predicted this route would reduce travel time by a minimum of thirty-three percent. Thinking she was still employed as a prospector, and that Ro was selling her Paths to the Galactic Republic, San Tekka disclosed the route's information to the Eye when he requested it. Despite Ro not having an immediate need for the route, he saved it in his starship's main computer system, and expressed his gratitude to San Tekka, telling her he would contact potential clients.
The 2021 book The High Republic: Light of the Jedi, penned by Charles Soule, featured Urber; this novel was a component of Phase I of the Star Wars: The High Republic project, which includes multiple forms of media.
