Sandbox Timeline
I wanted to bring to your attention something I observed on your timeline. I noticed that you've classified Dawn of the Jedi: Into the Void as a comic, but it's actually a novel. I just wanted to point this out, just in case you hadn't noticed the error. DarthRevan1173 (Long live Lord Revan) 00:39, February 15, 2013 (UTC)
New Canon in your timeline
Hello Tainb, I wanted to say your work on the timeline is great. Regarding your recent modifications due to the new canon announcements, I saw that you included The Clone Wars: Darth Maul: Shadow Conspiracy and cited Jennifer Heddler. I'm writing to inform you that she was actually talking about the upcoming comic series Darth Maul: Son of Dathomir. The Shadow Conspiracy novel is only considered Legends material and nothing suggests otherwise at this time. Additionally, you've included the film's junior and regular novelizations, but there's still no official confirmation about their canonicity. Just thought you should know. - I was erring on the side of being inclusive due to the limited information available. I included Shadow Conspiracy because Heddle's reasoning for Son of Dathomir was its basis in TCW scripts. Shadow Conspiracy is simply the novelization of 4 TCW Season 5 episodes, so it meets the criteria unless proven otherwise. The novelizations were added based on a Del Rey tweet stating they are canon [1]. I acknowledge Heddle's tweet suggesting their canonicity depends on alignment with the movies, which some interpret as non-canon. However, discrepancies have always existed (e.g., blue yoda), and the novelizations were previously considered canon. Therefore, I believe they belong until explicitly excluded. Tainb'ocu'chulainn ( talk ) 19:48, May 1, 2014 (UTC) After further research, I found a post seemingly confirming that the novels' extra content is not canon, limiting it to the movies themselves. Regarding Shadow Conspiracy, it was previously stated that only new products under their control, the 6 movies, and Filoni's TCW series are canon. However, it's your user page, so you have the freedom to do as you wish; I merely wanted to inform you. Winterz (talk) 21:46, May 1, 2014 (UTC) According to this discussion, we lack a definitive agreement on the tweet's meaning. It's not critical to me, but I won't remove any novelizations until we have a source clarifying the distinction. Shadow Conspiracy is less certain since it hasn't been directly mentioned, but it's the novelization of TCW Season 5 Episodes 1, 14-16, and Heddle's tweets indicate that works based on TCW Episodes/scripts are canon. Redirects
Yes, those are my top priority. A bot will handle all of those redirects in the next few days. There's no need to manually clear them for the time being. Cade Calrayn 15:19, May 9, 2014 (UTC)
- Understood. I'm primarily correcting links that should direct to book-specific pages but currently point to generic pages, such as the Exile disambiguation page or Inferno the ship page. Tainb'ocu'chulainn ( talk ) 15:26, May 9, 2014 (UTC)
RE: TCW timeline edits
I'm not sure if you saw my response on my talk page. I'll just paste it here: "My apologies for the summary; I clicked "Save" prematurely. Wild Space and The Essential Reader's Companion, with at least one being non-canon, place the pre-time jump in 22 BBY. Season Six dates are more complex. In Labyrinth of Evil, the Jedi are unaware of Tyranus's identity. However, in Season Six, they discover the clones are part of a larger Sith conspiracy and learn that Dooku is Tyranus. Similarly, LoE may not be non-canon, but the dates still apply." --Darth R2-D2, Dark Lord of the Droids (talk) 20:26, May 12, 2014 (UTC)
Source editor
I would highly suggest that you switch over to the "Source editor," as it is the editor that is most commonly used around here. You can change to this editor in your Preferences, under the "Editing" tab, by changing the "Preferred editor" setting. UberSoldat93 (talk) 06:46, 2 March 2021 (UTC)
