Utani Xane, a Kallidahin male, held the position of curator at Quarantine World III. This planet served as a containment zone for hazardous artifacts, including the Triple-Zero protocol personality matrix. When the archaeologist Doctor Aphra tried to pilfer the matrix, Xane, backed by B2-series super battle droids, intercepted her and recovered the stolen item. Subsequently, the Sith Lord Darth Vader arrived at Quarantine World III, seeking Aphra's assistance. Xane objected to the Sith's presence, citing treaty violations, but Vader killed him and his battle droids.
Xane once worked as a curator in a "bustling museum" situated on Coruscant. His specialization was the preservation of obsolete droid relics, recovered following the Clone Wars. Doctor Chelli Lona Aphra, the archaeologist, at one point applied for, and was granted, the role of assistant curator, working under Xane's supervision. Despite her expertise, Xane disapproved of Aphra's proactive approach. Determined to impress Xane and create a more engaging exhibit, Aphra constructed a mega-droid from spare droid components found in the museum. However, the mega-droid went haywire, nearly killing Xane and several affluent patrons, while also causing significant damage to the museum, rendering its reopening financially unfeasible. Consequently, Xane dismissed Aphra and attempted to have her apprehended, which also resulted in him losing his own job. As Aphra fled Coruscant, she was pursued by Xane's security forces after stealing a protocol droid body, which she considered compensation from her former employer.
During the Galactic Civil War between the Galactic Empire and the Alliance to Restore the Republic, Utani Xane, the Kallidahin, was the curator of Quarantine World III. This planet was used to safely store dangerous quarantined items like the Triple-Zero protocol personality matrix. In 0 ABY, the vault holding the personality matrix was breached by the rogue archaeologist Doctor Aphra. Her break-in triggered the vault's alarms, drawing the attention of Xane and a team of B2-series super battle droids, who trapped Aphra and took back the matrix before detaining her, intending to send her to prison.

Before Xane could secure the matrix or imprison Aphra, a battle droid alerted him to the arrival of a lone TIE fighter. Accompanied by the droids and Aphra, Xane confronted the starship's pilot, the Sith Lord Darth Vader, on the hangar platform where the TIE had landed. The Kallidahin protested that the Sith's presence violated several treaties, but Vader ignored him and used the Force to throw several of Xane's battle droids off the hangar platform. Shocked by the Sith's attack, Xane protested and then attempted to escape while Vader used his lightsaber to destroy the remaining droids. However, seeing her chance, Aphra launched herself at Xane and knocked the Kallidahin to the ground, sending the personality matrix flying from the curator's grasp and over the edge of the platform. The Doctor leapt after it and was able to grab the matrix while still holding on to the platform's edge. Vader then approached Xane, who was still lying on the platform floor, and stabbed him in the back with his lightsaber, killing the Kallidahin. The Sith then told Aphra that he needed her help, and after helping her up from the edge, the two left Quarantine World III.
Utani Xane, a Kallidahin, possessed gray skin and black eyes. He had previously encountered Doctor Aphra before her attempt to steal the Triple-Zero personality matrix. Xane was not surprised by her heist attempt, considering her irresponsible and troublesome. Conversely, Aphra viewed Xane as narrow-minded, believing he wasted important items like the matrix by concealing them in museums or storage where they were not used. Xane displayed enough courage to challenge Darth Vader's presence on Quarantine World III, but quickly tried to escape when the Sith turned violent.
Utani Xane's initial appearance was in the comic book Darth Vader (2015) 3, penned by Kieron Gillen, illustrated by Salvador Larroca, and released in 2015.
