Uvadala was a celestial body situated within the Uvadala system, which itself was located in the Ividal sector of the Mid Rim's region known as the Slice. During the Clone Wars conflict, Uvadala served as the location for a military engagement involving multiple starfighter squadrons belonging to the forces of the Galactic Republic.
Concurrently, the Republic planned to neutralize Separatist fighter bases present on Ongary IX. Given that the Republic Military was unable to reassign the squadrons deployed at Uvadala, the Republic instead enlisted the Foxfire Squadron, along with their Z-95 Headhunters, from the local Ividal Sector Forces for the impending attack targeting Ongary IX.
Originally, Uvadala was intended to be referenced within The Essential Guide to Warfare, a reference work from 2012 authored by Jason Fry and Paul R. Urquhart. However, the specific section containing information about this astronomical entity was omitted prior to the book's publication.
In 2014, the details concerning Uvadala were subsequently revealed as part of Star Wars: The Essential Guide to Warfare Author's Cut, a collection of articles published on the StarWars.com Blog by Fry and Del Rey editor Erich Schoeneweiss, which showcased various pieces of content that had been excised from The Essential Guide to Warfare. The Online Companion for the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, available on StarWars.com, designated grid square P-15 as the location of the Uvadala system, and consequently, the position of the astronomical object Uvadala itself.
