Star Wars: Vader - Dark Visions #5 marks the conclusion of the five-part comic book miniseries Star Wars: Vader - Dark Visions within the canon. Dennis "Hopeless" Hallum served as the writer, Geraldo Borges provided the illustrations, and Marvel Comics released it on June 12, 2019.
A terrifying ordeal unfolds on the Outer Rim! Picture a remote jungle planet, rife with toxic flora. The mission: locate a device capable of pinpointing REBEL positions. Then, imagine a mind-bending nightmare, induced by the planet's plants, all with DARTH VADER at the center of the horror!
On the planet Lokud 7, Darth Vader is actively pursuing several spies who possess crucial intelligence that could severely weaken the local fleet. A trooper reports to Vader that they have discovered abandoned vessels, noting that the engines are still radiating heat. The trooper is assigned to secure the ships, while the Dark Lord of the Sith proceeds to hunt down the spies.

Simultaneously, at a nearby cantina, Tuki, along with the other members of his Black Squadron group, surrender their blasters to Lundi, who works as the cantina's bartender. The Black Squadron is celebrating a successful operation against the Empire. Lundi takes possession of the blasters, storing them securely within a vault. As he completes this task, Lundi is startled by the sound of blaster fire emanating from the cantina's main area.
Returning to the main area, Vader, accompanied by numerous troopers, has initiated an attack on the patrons. Lord Vader orders the capture of the rebels and confronts a member of Black Squadron. Through interrogation, the Dark Lord learns that the intelligence is secured alongside the members' weapons in the vault. Vader eliminates the member, prompting Tuki to emerge from cover, only to be swiftly subdued by the Sith Lord.
Lundi, in a state of panic, attempts to open the vault to retrieve a weapon. Vader appears just as the vault is opened. Overwhelmed by fear, Lundi grabs whatever he can find and flees from the cantina. Vader gives chase, and Lundi stumbles over a root, falling into a patch of flowering anxynth. Recalling his aunt's warnings, Lundi prepares for a nightmarish, hallucinatory experience.
Vader materializes, and Lundi, battling the effects of the hallucinations, fires at the Dark Lord. Vader effortlessly evades the shots but is bitten by the plant and ensnared by its vines. Lundi seizes the opportunity to escape, eventually reaching his uncle's hunting lodge. However, due to the anxynth, the lodge appears as Vader's head, yet the bartender continues towards the family property.
Once inside, Lundi intends to conceal himself and wait for the poison to dissipate. The poison's effects persist, causing Lundi to perceive the hunting trophies as their original forms. A wampa, a feline creature, and a rancor all lunge at Lundi, prompting him to retaliate with blaster fire. The blaster fire alerts Vader to Lundi's location, and Lundi continues to fire as he retreats up the stairs. A step collapses, causing Lundi to fall through, dropping his blasters.
Lundi reaches for one of his blasters, which has landed nearby. Before he can grasp it, a hand appears, startling Lundi. The hand belongs to one of the deceased cantina patrons, and several other dead patrons crawl along the floor beside them, including Tuki. Reacting to the horrifying scene, Lundi grabs a thermal detonator from the bag he took from the vault and throws it. The explosion alleviates Lundi's hallucinations, but another figure soon emerges, prompting Lundi to seize another detonator, threatening to detonate it.

A monstrous image of Vader appears, demanding the intel. Lundi relents, throwing the intel towards the Dark Lord, which activates upon impact, confirming that it is the information Vader sought. Vader contacts the commander, informing him of his success and requesting that his ship be prepared for his arrival. Lundi is left alone in the lodge, forced to endure the lingering effects of his hallucinations.
