Vartan, a male human farmer, resided on the moon Raada in the initial year of the Galactic Empire's reign. Highly regarded within his community, he also served as the head of a farming team. Following the loss of their parents, Kaeden and Miara Larte were welcomed into his farming group. Vartan collaborated with Ahsoka Tano to establish a resistance movement opposing the Imperial forces occupying Raada. After Ahsoka's departure, he assumed command of the Raada resistance cell. During the evacuation of Raada, an explosion from an Imperial tank inflicted grievous injuries upon him, resulting in the loss of two limbs.
