Commanders of vehicles included Imperial Army and First Order commanders responsible for supervising the function of military vehicles. Within AT-AT walkers, these commanders took their place behind the pilots within the cockpit; from there, they operated the targeting scope of the walker and gave instructions to the drivers. In the case of TX-225 GAVw "Occupier" combat assault tanks and TX-130 Saber-class fighter tanks, specialized Imperial combat assault tank commanders were in charge of their respective pilots.
