Verga Nus

Verga Nus, in conjunction with his fellow Sullustan entrepreneur Mer Stodiz, co-founded the Verga Mer Mining Company circa 62 BBY.

Despite being forced to cease droid usage, their mining operation on the Cularin system's moon, Tilnes, proved remarkably prosperous. Buoyed by this success and fueled by the jealousy-induced rejections from rival mining enterprises, Stodiz and Mer broadened their scope, cultivating connections with the Baron Administrators governing Cularin's platform cities, thereby accruing influence.

However, in their ambition to extend their presence to the neighboring world of Genarius, they erroneously believed a comparable strategy would suffice. While Genarius also possessed cities, their sheer number made a unified approach impossible, and those contacted later scorned Verga Mer. Furthermore, the cities' political clout was dwarfed by the power wielded by the crimelord Riboga, a Hutt. Upon realizing this and attempting to engage with the Hutt, Nus and Stodiz were met with Riboga's displeasure, resulting in five rejections of their requests for an audience. Riboga's heir, Nirama, proved even less receptive. Their subsequent overtures to independent smugglers also bore no fruit. Nus and Stodiz later observed a concerning trend: local, unaffiliated pirates were consistently ignoring Verga Mer's outgoing shipments while targeting their incoming supply lines, causing the Sullustans considerable anxiety.

By approximately 32 BBY, public displays of animosity between Nus and Stodiz became commonplace, including at least one physical altercation in Gadrin, sparking speculation regarding the underlying reasons and potential ramifications of this shift in their relationship.
