During the High Republic Era, Vin served the Jedi Order as a Jedi Master and was a Muun. Following the deaths of Jedi Master Zallah Macri and her Padawan, Kevmo Zink, on the planet of Dalna in 382 BBY, Vin and Jedi Knight Azlin Rell gathered at the Kyber Arch within the Jedi Temple on Coruscant to remember their lives and sacrifice. Despite lacking Macri and Zink's kyber crystals at that moment, Vin expressed a desire to eventually place the crystals of all deceased Jedi, including Macri and Zink, within the Kyber Arch, acknowledging the somber nature of this responsibility. When Rell voiced his intention to investigate their deaths, Vin showed understanding but cautioned him to exercise care. As Rell departed, leaving Vin alone, he stated his plan to seek answers in the historical records. Vin possessed tan skin, blue eyes, and was attired in brown and white Jedi robes.
Vin's appearance was in The High Republic Adventures: Quest of the Jedi, a one-shot comic published by Dark Horse Comics on April 26, 2023. This comic, part of Phase II of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project, was written by Claudia Gray and illustrated by Fico Ossio. A preview released on April 20 of the same year suggested, through Vin's initial dialogue, that Vin and Azlin Rell had already placed the kyber crystals of Zallah Macri and Kevmo Zink on the Kyber Arch. Given that the 2022 novel The High Republic: Path of Deceit—penned by Justina Ireland and Tessa Gratton—shows members of the Path of the Open Hand cult taking Macri and Zink's lightsabers, which Rell did not recover, the comic's final version altered the line. The phrase "I hope that one day we will be able to do so for all who have fallen" was added to resolve this inconsistency.
