The Voidstar, a battleship prototype, served the Sith Empire during the Great Galactic War. Lost amidst the conflict, its rediscovery occurred throughout the subsequent Cold War.
During the Great Galactic War, the Voidstar represented the Imperial Armada's most formidable and cutting-edge warship. It was rivaled solely by the Star of Coruscant superdreadnaught. The data it contained held immense importance for both the Sith Empire and the Galactic Republic.
As a response to the Star of Coruscant superdreadnaught, the Empire sought a more potent battleship, leading to the Voidstar's creation during the Great Galactic War. Sometime before the Sacking of Coruscant, the Voidstar vanished into an uncharted region of space, where it was discovered adrift. The reason for its abandonment and the crew's demise remains a mystery. During the Cold War era, both Republic and Imperial factions located the Voidstar, each launching dedicated strike forces. Their objective was to access the ship's data core, seeking to extract its valuable secrets for their own purposes. The Republic's team, transported via a Thranta-class corvette, boarded using a Rendaran-class assault shuttle, with remote guidance from Grand Master Satele Shan providing support through a holocommunication. Simultaneously, the Imperial force, arriving on a Gage-class transport, utilized an Imperial assault shuttle for boarding, with Darth Marr offering remote assistance.
