Vokoff-Strood
Vokoff-Strood was a manufacturer specializing in podracers and the engines that powered them. Among their products were the Titan 2150 rocket engine and the Plug-8G 927 Cluster Array Podracer, along with its specific engine. During the 32 BBY Boonta Eve Classic race held on the planet Tatooine, the podracer Ratts Tyerell utilized a pair of Vokoff-Strood Titan 2150 rocket engines for his podracer, known as Scatalpen, while Ark Roose, another competitor, raced in a Plug-8G 927 Cluster Array Podracer. However, neither pilot successfully completed the race.
Behind the scenes
Vokoff-Strood's initial mention within the current Star Wars canon occurred in the mobile card game titled Star Wars: Force Collection, which was originally released in 2013. Despite the fact that the launch of Force Collection happened before the Star Wars canon was reset in 2014, Leland Chee, a member of the Lucasfilm Story Group, verified that the game received updates to maintain consistency with canon. In one of the game's cards featuring the company, the name was misspelled as "Vokof-Strood." The company first appeared in the Star Wars Legends timeline, with its debut in the 1999 reference software, Star Wars: Episode I Insider's Guide.
