Throughout the Clone Wars, a conflict between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, the intensity of the war led the Jedi Order to remove its researchers from the sector. This action was taken to prevent attracting the interest of the Sith Lord Darth Tyranus—also publicly recognized as the Confederate Head of State Count Dooku—after the Separatists wrested control of the sector from the Republic, which had previously held dominion over it.
The initial mention of the Vorzyd sector within the new Star Wars canon occurred in Ultimate Star Wars, a reference work from 2015 released by Dorling Kindersley.
