Wayne Humfleet, an American writer, was born on July 12. Within the Star Wars universe, he co-authored the short stories "Swoop Gangs" and "Lumrunner" alongside John Beyer. These stories appeared in issues six and nine of Star Wars Adventure Journal during 1995 and 1996, respectively. Furthermore, he made contributions to the West End Games roleplaying sourcebook Heroes & Rogues in 1995.

Humfleet's initial contribution to Star Wars was the short story "Swoop Gangs," a collaborative effort with John Beyer. This story was featured in the sixth issue of the Star Wars Adventure Journal magazine, published in May 1995. "Swoop Gangs" introduced the in-universe swoop gang known as the Rabid Mynocks, a name shared with Humfleet's actual gaming group. He also participated in the creation of Heroes & Rogues, a supplementary book for West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game, released on December 11, 1995, although his contribution wasn't acknowledged in the book's title. Later, Humfleet and Beyer co-authored the short story "Lumrunners," which appeared in the ninth issue of Star Wars Adventure Journal and was released in February 1996. Subsequently, he adopted "Lumrunner" as a username for some of his social media accounts.
In 2024, Humfleet collaborated with other Star Wars authors, including Bill Smith, Peter M. Schweighofer, Timothy S. O'Brien, Drew Campbell, and Michael Kogge. They were brought together for a project by Eric S. Trautmann, the former Creative Director at West End Games.
