Weogar was a city-state situated on the Bith homeworld, also known as the planet Bith, which is the origin of the sentient Bith species. Approximately three centuries prior to the Galactic Civil War, Weogar engaged in a brief civil war against Nozho, another city-state on Bith. During this conflict, both cities deployed biological, chemical, and mutagenic armaments, devastating Bith's environment and resulting in the killing of most of its inhabitants. Consequently, the planet was placed under quarantine, and Bith society underwent a radical transformation.
The first mention of Weogar within the new Star Wars canon occurred in Fully Operational, a roleplaying sourcebook from 2018 by Fantasy Flight Games for the Star Wars: Age of Rebellion roleplaying game. It initially appeared in the Star Wars Legends continuity, specifically in the 1989 roleplaying supplement Galaxy Guide 4: Alien Races, authored by Troy Denning for West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game.
