The criminal syndicate called the Winds of Ruin, or simply Ruin, were responsible for the abduction of the musician Tu-Wane Jipps. They forced him to perform music at their headquarters. Subsequently, Tobias Beckett, a former gambling associate of Jibbs, overheard some members of the Winds of Ruin discussing Jipps within a cantina. In response, Beckett intentionally allowed himself to be captured with the intention of liberating Jipps. Val, Beckett's accomplice, subsequently freed him from the Ruin's prison. Together, they battled through numerous Ruin enforcers and droids to successfully flee with the musician.
The comic story "Tales of Villainy: Credits" featured the Winds of Ruin. This story was released in Star Wars Adventures (2020) 4 on March 24, 2021. Jordan Clark penned the story, while Yael Nathan provided the illustrations.
