Zanales, known as "Scorch", was a Podracer of great renown. This male individual was a Daimlo hailing from the world of Daimla.
Because he showed great skill on The Citadel course of Gamorr, Zanales, who was fluent in Huttese, was a favorite among the Gamorreans.
During the Galactic Games that took place in 27 BBY, Zanales participated in an unsanctioned Caves race on Euceron. Among the other racers were Ody Mandrell, Aldar Beedo, Gasgano, Elan Mak, Will Neluenf, and the fourteen-year-old Jedi Padawan Anakin Skywalker. Zanales, who had been pursuing Skywalker closely, collided with Gasgano and both racers suffered crashes.
Skywalker's victory in the race was on behalf of Ratts Tyerell's children—Deland and Doby. Anakin piloted their podracer to secure the freedom of their sister-slave Djulla from her master, Sebulba. Hekula, Sebulba's son, finished the race in second position.
