The Zixon were a sentient species who were native to the planet of Minfar. Possessing shorter stature than humans, they were characterized by a covering of short, dense green fur, elongated pointed ears, a snout, and hands with long claws. As per intelligence gathered by Glenna Kip, the Zixon primarily resided underground and acquired their name due to the squeaking sounds produced during initial contact with outsiders.
The Zixon of Minfar exhibited a strong connection to the natural world, illustrated by Lim's knowledge of Rey's name, explaining that "[her] name" was sung by "the leaves." Rey herself posited that the Zixon shared a unique bond with The Force.
When the Resistance intervened to assist Lim and the Zixon in their conflict against the First Order, Lim extended an offer of blagaret soup to the heroes. This spicy, thick, and warm soup was presented in cups featuring uniquely spaced rings along the exterior, designed to accommodate the Zixon's claws. Beverages were also served in ringed glasses. Rey expressed her enjoyment of the meal. The cleaning of dishes took place in a simmering pool located within Minfar's subterranean tunnels.
The Zixon extended a warm welcome to the Resistance at Ghikjil through music and dance. The musical performances incorporated squeaky horns and drums with deep tones. Poe Dameron and BB-8 received gifts of crowns fashioned from deep-purple flowers. Rey was presented with additional food offerings.
The Zixon faced predation from massive subterranean creatures known as grobel. These grobel haunted the underground tunnels, which linked the subterranean Zixon city of Ghikjil to the surface. However, according to the leader of the Zixon, the Zixon population was on the rise due to the decreasing grobel population. The Zixon employed "many tricks to keep them away," including a cavern featuring a bridge constructed to appear invisible.
The Zixon did not possess particularly advanced technology. Rose Tico noted that the limited technology they did possess was quite sophisticated. Jem explained that a friend had rescued them from the Galactic Empire and had provided them with technology to summon assistance should Minfar face danger, particularly if stormtroopers were to return to test the Echo Horn on them once more. The Zixon did not utilize ships. While some Zixon carried blasters, Rey surmised that these were primarily for decorative purposes, given the difficulty they would encounter in manipulating the trigger mechanism with their claws. Lim wielded a ball-and-string weapon capable of incapacitating three First Order stormtroopers with a single swing.
