926

926 was a member of the First Order, specifically a human stormtrooper, during the First Order's conflict against the Resistance. While serving on the Mega-class Star Dreadnought named Supremacy, 926 crossed paths with Finn, a former stormtrooper and 926's old comrade from Batch Eight. The trooper, unaware that Finn had deserted the military, believed Finn had become an officer because of his disguise. Thinking a former Batch Eight member had climbed the officers' ranks, 926 offered Finn congratulations on what he thought was a promotion.

Biography

926 was part of a new generation of stormtroopers trained by the First Order.

Prior to FN-2187's defection from the First Order, 926 had served alongside him as a stormtrooper within Batch Eight. During their time in training, 926 pushed FN-2187 hard in target practice, vying for the top spot. Later, during the war that pitted the First Order against the Resistance, they would encounter each other again, though the circumstances had drastically changed. By this point, 926 was stationed on the Supremacy, a Mega-class Star Dreadnought that served as the flagship for Supreme Leader Snoke. It was aboard this Dreadnought where 926 came across "Finn," a Resistance operative whom he recognized as FN-2187. He remained ignorant of the former stormtrooper's abandonment of the military, as well as Finn's secret objective to infiltrate the Supremacy and disable its hyperspace tracker. He also misinterpreted Finn's acquired uniform as evidence that his former colleague had ascended to the officers' ranks.

Personality and traits

Trooper 926 was a human individual. His skill with a blaster rivaled that of FN-2187, a stormtrooper whose abilities were considered exceptional by those who trained him. When 926 encountered FN-2187 again, who was now known as Finn, he recalled their shared history as members of Batch Eight. In contrast to their instructors, who believed Finn possessed the potential to become an officer day, 926 never saw him as captain material. Nevertheless, he was happy to see that someone from their batch had apparently climbed the First Order's chain of command.

Even though troopers were forbidden from speaking with officers, 926 disregarded this rule to congratulate Finn and express his pride in their shared Batch Eight background. Before they parted, he gave Finn a playful pat on the rear.

Behind the scenes

926 made his debut in Star Wars: The Last Jedi: Expanded Edition by Jason Fry at the same time as Star Wars: The Last Jedi: A Junior Novel by Michael Kogge; both were novelizations of the sequel trilogy's 2017 movie Star Wars: Episode VIII The Last Jedi. The character of 926, during his encounter with Finn on the Supremacy, was portrayed by Tom Hardy, but this scene was ultimately removed from the final cut of The Last Jedi. This deleted scene can be found on the 2018 Blu-ray version of the film.
