Derelict Hangar

History

By 14 BBY, the Empire arrived on the planet Zeffo and initiated Project Auger. Because of this, the Derelict Hangar became off-limits to anyone other than the Empire through Imperial Code 94364. The code also forbade trade or selling at the Derelict Hangar.

Behind the scenes

The Derelict Hangar was created for the video game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts on November 15, 2019. The location was first revealed in the Xbox E3 Briefing of the game on June 10, 2019. Concept art of the hangar was created by artists Bruno Werneck and Jean-Francois Rey. Like with the rest of the game, the location is heavily influenced by 3D Metroidvania type design—an action-adventure subgenre defined by large, interconnected maps containing paths that could be unlocked as the player progresses through the game. The hangar was the very first area that was developed for the game. In The Art of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order reference book, the Derelict Hangar was referred to as the "Landing Pad."
