Kooib-s Guvar held the position of holojournalist for a well-regarded newsnet situated on the Core Worlds planet of Coruscant. She was a humanoid female. To supplement her income, she also contributed articles to a tabloid, allowing her to acquire additional credits. In the year 28 BBY, she was approached by Captain Tonra, who was feigning being a journalism student. He was actually investigating newsnet contacts for his employer, Senator Padmé Amidala.
After a brief period of flirting, during which Tonra charmed Guvar, he provided her contact details to Sabé, a handmaiden working for Amidala. Subsequently, Guvar and Sabé began a series of meetings at Dex's Diner, a local restaurant, where they exchanged information pertaining to the Galactic Senate and its members. During one of these meetings, the holojournalist informed Sabé about an upcoming party hosted by Senator Mon Mothma, expressing her interest in Mothma's involvement with the Senate. Sabé reciprocated with flirtation, finding the humanoid attractive. However, she ultimately decided to discontinue contact with Guvar to prevent the holojournalist from discovering her connection to Amidala.
During the Republic Era, lived the humanoid female named Kooib-s Guvar. Her career began at some point as a holojournalist for a highly esteemed newsnet located on the Core Worlds planet of Coruscant. In addition to her primary role, Guvar also wrote for a tabloid to earn extra [credits](/article/galactic_credit_standard], despite the tabloid's lower standing compared to her main employer. She cultivated a network of contacts over time, which helped her gain access to new and developing stories for her publications. In 28 BBY, Captain Tonra commenced research into newsnet contacts on behalf of his employer, Senator Padmé Amidala. To make contact with Guvar, he pretended to be a journalism student seeking to enter the field, briefly flirting with and charming her. Afterward, Tonra shared the holojournalist's contact information with Sabé, one of Amidala's handmaiden.

For a period, Guvar and Sabé engaged in information exchange concerning the Galactic Senate and its members at a restaurant called Dex's Diner on Coruscant. However, the holojournalist was often tardy for their rendezvous, in spite of frequently providing significant intelligence for the handmaiden. On one such occasion, Guvar and Sabé met at Dex's Diner, where they were served caf by a service droid. The holojournalist informed Sabé about an upcoming party hosted by Senator Mon Mothma, along with the various newsnets invited to the event. Both women surmised that Mothma was planning to invite someone to the party as a diversion to conceal the gathering's actual purpose.
Guvar inquired about the handmaiden's interest in the Senate, but Sabé dismissed the question by flirting with her, suggesting that the holojournalist could be a dancer at the Galaxies Opera House if she so desired. Although flattered, the humanoid indicated that Tonra was more skilled at flirting than her. The holojournalist then spilled her caf on the floor, much to the dismay of the restaurant's service droids, and departed. Sabé then contemplated the risks of the holojournalist discovering her connection to Amidala in her investigations. The handmaiden resolved to seek a new newsnet contact and only reach out to Guvar when absolutely necessary. Shortly after traveling to the Core Worlds planet Alderaan, Sabé recounted her and Tonra's interactions with Guvar to the pilot Daneska Varbarós, including having to disentangle the latter man from the holojournalist's infatuation with him.

As a holojournalist, Guvar found satisfaction in uncovering newsworthy information for her articles. Despite the prestige of her position at the newsnet, she still valued the extra income she earned from writing for a tabloid. The humanoid was curious about Sabé's interest in the Galactic Senate, finding the handmaiden's explanation of being a concerned citizen to be dubious. Guvar was frequently late for her meetings with Sabé, though the latter considered the information she provided to be worth the inconvenience.
Guvar enjoyed Tonra's company and was attracted to him, preferring his flirting style to Sabé's, although she appreciated the handmaiden's compliments on her appearance. Sabé, on the other hand, found Guvar's physical appearance captivating, despite not typically being attracted to nonhumans. The holojournalist possessed mottled [purple](/article/color] skin, bright blue eyes, a wide nose, pointed teeth, and hands with seven fingers. The top of her head was adorned with short red spikes, approximately two centimeters tall. Guvar's height was around 1.65 meters.
Kooib-s Guvar made an appearance in Queen's Shadow, a young-adult novel released in 2019 and penned by E. K. Johnston. The author drew inspiration for the holojournalist's physical appearance from the actor Amy Acker, appreciating her portrayals of morally ambiguous characters. Johnston mentioned on Twitter that she was more focused on writing about Sabé's flirtations in the scene with Guvar than Tonra's. In an interview conducted years later, the author clarified that moments exploring Sabé and Tonra's attractions throughout the book, including the moment with the journalist, were intended to definitively portray them as "not straight."
