The Red Nebula priest, vital to his faith, dwelled within the temple situated in the Red Nebula, which served as the repository for two crimson jewels.
His conviction was that the jewels offered protection to their planet against the devastation that had plagued other planets within the Red Nebula. Conversely, another faction held the belief that the jewels were abominations against Cosmic Destiny and should be destroyed. Consequently, this faction was exiled, only to return to the Red Nebula after enlisting a contingent of mercenaries from Terminus, compelling them to attempt the theft of the jewels from the temple.
Among the mercenaries captured were Han Solo and Chewbacca, who were the first to enter the temple and come face to face with the priest. To safeguard the jewels, the priest summoned the temple guardian to defend the sacred artifacts. However, Chewbacca, bearing a resemblance to the guardian albeit smaller in stature, diverted the guardian's attention.
Capitalizing on the distraction, Solo seized the jewels and delivered them to Klysk, the exiles' spokesperson. Klysk and the mercenaries relieved Solo of the jewels, abandoning the smuggler and his companion on the planet. Subsequently, the exiles steered their vessel into the sun, intending to obliterate both the gems and themselves. However, Solo had concealed the genuine jewels, providing the exiles with replicas, thereby averting the planet's destruction according to the priest's faith. In exchange for preserving the jewels, the priest furnished Solo and Chewbacca with a spacecraft for their return to Terminus. Years later, Domina Tagge contracted a group of bounty hunters to locate the rumored crimson gems of the Red Nebula. They discovered the planet housing the jewels and captured both the gems and the priest who guarded them. As Tagge's Mining Explorer departed with the gems, it was promptly intercepted and boarded by Imperial forces. A skirmish erupted between the crews, resulting in the Imperials seizing one of the crimson jewels. Amidst the chaos, the priest, succumbing to wounds sustained during the conflict, released the other crimson jewel. With one jewel exposed and separated from its counterpart, it unleashed a lethal phenomenon known as the Crimson Forever upon the crew of the Mining Explorer. The effect was nullified upon the reunion of the jewel with its mate.
Despite appearing Human, this priest possesses pointed ears. Leland Chee, on the StarWars.com Message Boards, proposed the theory that "all pointy-eared species are either Sephi or closely related to Sephi."
This priest and Darth Vader's secretary share numerous similarities.
