Following the evacuation of XQ6 Platform Research, Imperial forces arrived at buoy B-0F9 to transfer the TIE Defender prototypes from the vulnerable BFF-1 bulk freighter Mharsup to the Assassin-class corvette group Hashim in order to deliver them to Admiral Thrawn in a secret location.
But the rendezvous area was the site of a recent Rebel attack, and despite the Alliance, not usually known for attacking the same place twice, decided to send fighters to the transfer area. Firstly by sending A-wings, one at a time. As soon as Stele shot down the first A-wing, B-wings arrived. As the skirmish continued 3 X-wings along with 3 Stormtrooper transports, Storm, which contained Commandos arrived, indicating a capture operation. Stele, being no stranger to this, engaged all enemy fighters and transports and destroyed, them.
Soon Modified corvette Hashim arrived with Assault Gunboat Nu Squadron as escort. Just as they arrived 6 Y-wings arrived to make torpedo runs on the corvettes. Stele intercepted the torpedoes, and with the help of Nu, destroyed the Y-wings. However a Nebulon-B frigate Hunu arrived and started launching Z-95 Headhunters. Both Imperial squadrons managed to resist long enough to transfer all the TIE Defender prototypes and entered hyperspace.
The battle was first featured in the 1994 LucasArts video game Star Wars: TIE Fighter, in which players fly as Maarek Stele. The battle is depicted in the mission "Escort to Rendezvous ", the fourth mission of the game's ninth tour of campaign, "T/D Technology."
This article assumes completion of "Primary" goals. "Bonus" goals are that Mharsup finishes the mission intact and the elimination of every Rebel craft including the Hunu. Also, 4 TIE Advanced sent by Zaarin will arrive, depending on circumstances. Either they arrive should Mharsup be disbaled or much later while they player may be fighting the Hunu.
