In the year 34 ABY, Vi Moradi, a Resistance spy, was captured by First Order troops after they discovered her position within the Resistance. She was questioned by Captain Cardinal, a stormtrooper, whose objective quickly changed from collecting data about the Resistance to uncovering details concerning Captain Phasma's history, hoping to discover someone to blame in order to overthrow her. Consequently, Moradi told Cardinal about the mission to Parnassos. During the questioning, Cardinal found out about Phasma's part in the death of Brendol Hux, along with Brendol's son, General Armitage Hux. Because of this revelation, Cardinal tried to murder Phasma as payback for his mentor's demise, but he was defeated and almost lost his own life. Subsequently, Moradi fled, taking Cardinal along with her.
