The Abridon Nationalists were a resistance movement that fought for the freedom of their home planet, Abridon, from the control of the Galactic Empire. They successfully seized control of their world in 3 ABY, working together with forces from the Rebel Alliance. The Abridon Government Council then began discussions about joining the Rebel Alliance, with the Alliance being represented by a delegation of five dignitaries, one of whom was the Jedi hero, Luke Skywalker.

Grand General Malcor Brashin and General Brenn Tantor arrived within three days aboard the Imperial Star Destroyer called the Inquisitor. Tantor landed outside Abridon's capital and quickly evicted the Nationalists and their Rebel allies, retaking both the Government Center and the capital's Imperial base. During this assault, he captured a Nationalist leader, Hamman Flatt. Flatt, who was the planet's lieutenant governor, hoping to receive mercy, gave Tantor information that led to the capture of the dignitaries. Flatt was then imprisoned in a prison camp, and Tantor was successful in capturing the dignitaries, including Skywalker, and completely eliminating the Rebel presence.
Even after the Alliance forces were gone, the Nationalists continued their fight. The industrial city of Sayan became their main base. The Nationalists fought the Imperial forces for several months, until the Empire decided it was enough. The Empire positioned artillery platforms close to the shipyards and began destroying the city systematically.
At this point, Brenn Tantor reappeared. Having now switched his allegiance to the Alliance, he once again captured the Government Center, freed Flatt, seized the Sayan shipyards, and completely eliminated the Imperial presence in Sayan. The Abridon Nationalists were happy to join the Alliance, just in time to provide A-wing starfighters for the upcoming Battle of Endor.
