Hamman Flatt, a male Human from Abridon, held the position of leader within the Abridon Nationalists during the era of the Galactic Civil War on that planet.
In 3 ABY, the Rebel Alliance aided the Nationalists in capturing Abridon, but the Galactic Empire quickly responded, deploying forces to reclaim it within a mere three days. When General Brenn Tantor's stormtroopers seized the Abridon Government Center, the highest-ranking rebel taken prisoner was Lieutenant Governor Hamman Flatt.
Overcome with fear, Flatt tried to negotiate for his survival. Tantor initially ignored him, but Flatt revealed crucial information: five Rebel dignitaries were in the capital city, attempting to persuade the Nationalists to join the Rebel Alliance. Showing some allegiance, Flatt failed to mention that one of these Rebels was the Jedi hero Luke Skywalker. At that moment, Tantor's superior intervened. Grand General Malcor Brashin sent out probe droids to verify Flatt's statement and promised that, if it proved accurate, Flatt's information had earned him a quick death, instead of a drawn-out and painful one.
Flatt was imprisoned in a prison camp located on the eastern outskirts of the capital. Shortly before the Battle of Endor, two Rebel generals rescued him during their conquest of Abridon. One of them, Tyr Taskeen, had previously commanded the Rebel forces on Abridon before being forced off during the planet's recapture. The other seemed vaguely familiar to Flatt, but denied ever having met him. Flatt eagerly offered the planet, along with a valuable consignment of A-wings, to the Rebels in return for removing Imperial forces from Abridon's contested industrial hub, Sayan. Taskeen and his recently defected subordinate, General Brenn Tantor, quickly fulfilled Flatt's conditions.
