The Aeon Engine represented a piece of technology that Lady Corvax developed on Mustafar. Its purpose was to capture the power contained within the life-sustaining Bright Star crystal. When Corvax initiated the engine, aiming to bring her deceased spouse back to life, the Aeon Engine unleashed lethal energy surges that devastated Mustafar, transforming it into a fiery wasteland.
In the time of the Empire, Darth Vader came across the Aeon Engine again. He then tried, regardless of the consequences, to use it alongside the Bright Star to resurrect his deceased wife, Padmé Amidala. Although he nearly achieved his goal, a descendant of Lady Corvax intervened, preventing his success by plunging the lightsaber of the Black Bishop into both the Bright Star and the Aeon Engine, resulting in the destruction of these mystical artifacts and damage to the lightsaber.
Emperor Palpatine subsequently found out about Vader's unsuccessful endeavor. He commented that if such a device could be rebuilt, it would certainly be highly advantageous for the Sith to possess.
