Dorwin Corvax

Dorwin Corvax, a human male also recognized as the Black Bishop, was born prior to 1032 BBY. He was the husband of Lady Corvax. He ultimately fell during a battle, prompting Lady Corvax's attempt to resurrect him using the Bright Star. This action, however, transformed Mustafar into a hellish wasteland and trapped her husband between life and death. As a result of this state, Lord Corvax gained the powers of time suspension and teleportation. During the Imperial Era, he aided Darth Vader in his efforts to revive Padmé Amidala, but his real goal was to reclaim the Bright Star from Vader, return it to the native Mustafarians, and break his own curse.

A descendant of his played a role in ensuring the Bright Star was returned to the Mustafarians.

Behind the scenes

The initial appearance of Dorwin Corvax was in the first episode of Vader Immortal: A Star Wars VR Series, a virtual reality trilogy produced by ILMxLAB. While known as the Black Bishop in some parts of the game, the Priestess calls him "Sir Dorwin" in a flashback scene. The spelling of the name was subsequently confirmed by Lucasfilm Story Group member Matt Martin on the social media platform Twitter.
