The most revered and sacred possession of the Mustafarians, the Bright Star, was a crystal shaped like a crescent. It predates the Galactic Empire by a significant amount of time. Lady Corvax pilfered it with the intention of using its energies to power her Aeon Engine and resurrect her dead husband. However, instead of achieving this goal, the Bright Star unleashed potent energies, transforming the once-lush and vibrant planet of Mustafar into a desolate and fiery landscape. Following this catastrophe, Corvax concealed the artifact within her sanctum. During the Imperial Era, the Sith Lord Darth Vader managed to acquire the sole key to unlock the Bright Star's power. Despite obtaining the key, Vader found himself unable to wield the Bright Star himself, as its use was restricted to individuals of Corvax's lineage. After numerous failed attempts to use the crystal, Vader succeeded in capturing a descendant of Lady Corvax who was a smuggler and operated the starship named Windfall.
This descendant possessed Force-sensitive abilities, which they utilized, after being trained by Vader, to ultimately acquire the Bright Star. However, they ultimately betrayed Vader's trust and attempted to return the crystal to the Mustafarians, hoping they could employ it to rejuvenate their ravaged world. Vader intervened, intercepting them and reclaiming the Bright Star, intending to use it to resurrect Padmé Amidala, his deceased spouse.
Vader reconnected the Bright Star to the Aeon Engine and initiated its activation. The crystal projected a beam of energy into the skies above Mustafar, and the spectral form of Padmé began to materialize. However, before the Star could complete its function (and potentially cause further devastation to Mustafar, or even worse outcomes), the descendant of Corvax reappeared and engaged Vader in a duel, wielding Lord Corvax's lightsaber. The descendant's connection to Lady Corvax seemed to influence the Bright Star, halting the resurrection process. Subsequently, they impaled the Bright Star with the lightsaber, resulting in its destruction along with the Aeon Engine.
The Bright Star's demise triggered a chain reaction, initiating the transformation of Mustafar from its desolate state back to its original, thriving condition.
