Ajuur

A Hutt named Ajuur made his living as a bookie for the Exchange, a criminal organization, operating out of the Upper City Cantina on the planet of Taris. In addition to this, he was the owner of a combat arena that broadcast duels to the death as a form of entertainment for spectators.

Biography

In the year 3956 BBY, the Sith Empire seized control of Taris from the Galactic Republic and subsequently banned death matches, which compelled Ajuur to modify his arena's battles to be non-fatal. Despite this change, the sport's popularity persisted, leading to the rise of gladiators such as Ice, Gerlon Two-Fingers, Marl, Twitch, and Deadeye Duncan to prominence.

Nevertheless, Ajuur had no problems with arranging clandestine duels for the most celebrated and powerful warriors. When the Republic soldier Revan, who was suffering from amnesia, quickly became the new champion, Ajuur was overjoyed and proposed a death match between him and the legendary champion Bendak Starkiller. While Bendak was enthusiastic about the idea, Revan ultimately declined.

Behind the scenes

Ajuur's initial appearance was as a non-playable character in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, a video game from 2003 developed by BioWare. Within the game, the player, controlling Revan, has the option to participate in fights within his arena. However, the nature of this encounter is such that it neither advances the overarching narrative nor influences the player's moral alignment. Consequently, it remains uncertain whether Revan ever had any interaction with him, and if so, what that interaction entailed.

If the player manages to defeat all other duelists in the arena, Ajuur extends an offer to arrange a death match with Starkiller, which is a non-canonical dark side outcome. After successfully defeating Starkiller, Ajuur provides the player with their earnings, along with Bendak's blaster. Furthermore, it is possible to persuade or intimidate Ajuur into increasing the reward. There is also a glitch in the game that can cause him to give the player Bendak's blaster on two separate occasions.

In contrast to the majority of characters in the game who do not speak Basic, he would utter his own name if it appeared in the subtitles. He would also speak Bendak Starkiller's name under similar circumstances. He shares this characteristic with Gluupor and Motta.
