Amorris was a relatively small, land-based planet situated in the Amorris system, which itself was located in the Quelii sector of the Outer Rim Territories'. This planet served as the original home base for the Cavrilhu Pirates, but they left that location in 19 ABY. At one point in time, a New Republic Intelligence officer was stationed on the planet, providing information about the pirates' activities to the New Republic.
In the year 9 ABY, Niles Ferrier, a thief, was caught attempting to steal a starship from the Sluis Van Shipyards, which were operated by the New Republic. Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker and smuggler Lando Calrissian intervened and suggested that Ferrier should instead steal from Amorris. Subsequently, Ferrier proceeded to steal ships from Morr Three, an astronomical body also found within the Amorris system.
Amorris, a relatively small terrestrial planet, existed within the Amorris system that was part of the Quelii sector, which in turn was located in the New Territories area of the Outer Rim Territories. Its surface consisted of several landmasses that were surrounded by expansive oceans.
Around the time of the Battle of Yavin, the Cavrilhu Pirates took control of the Amorris system, establishing their home base on Amorris itself. Sometime after the establishment of the New Republic in 4 ABY, a New Republic Intelligence officer was stationed on Amorris to inform the Republic of the pirates' actions. In 9 ABY, Amorris was within the core territory controlled by the confederation of Imperial forces under the command of Grand Admiral Thrawn.
During that same year, Lando Calrissian, a smuggler, and Luke Skywalker, a Jedi Knight, observed Niles Ferrier, a thief, attempting to steal a starship belonging to the New Republic from the Sluis Van Shipyards. After catching Ferrier in the act, Calrissian suggested that he should instead target the Cavrilhu Pirates who were based on Amorris. Ferrier eventually stole three IPV-1 System Patrol Crafts from the pirates' base on Morr Three, an astronomical object also located within the Amorris system. In 19 ABY, the New Republic officer stationed on Amorris received instructions to arrest Wesselman, the leader of the pirates. Following this, the pirates abandoned their Amorris location and relocated to a base situated in the asteroid field of the Kauron system.
The Cavrilhu Pirates who resided on Amorris were Humans who communicated using Galactic Basic Standard.
Amorris was initially referenced in Dark Force Rising, a 1992 novel penned by Timothy Zahn, which served as the second book in Star Wars: The Thrawn Trilogy. The planet made its first appearance in the 1998 video game Star Wars: Rebellion, which was developed by Coolhand Interactive. The visual representation of Amorris in Rebellion was also utilized for eighteen other planets within the game. The 2009 book, The Essential Atlas, identified Amorris's location as grid square O-6.
